Using the Twinning Advanced methodology, the Design Options Paper (DOP) on IPR services to SMEs will be elaborated in
order to be at disposal for other innovation agencies to design and/or deliver similar IPR services.
Professional experts with extensive knowledge and experience on IPR and on creative moderation methodologies will be
subcontracted to moderate the two peer learning workshops in order to achieve the highest quality results. The peer learning
group will be composed by 12 persons from the 3 Regions/Country involved (Friuli Venezia Giulia region – Italy; Spain;
Slovenia). The aim of the working group will be to strengthen the IPR support services and programme design through the
application of the Twinning+ methodology.
The INPRO project will facilitate the knowledge exchange among the participants on the following matters:
• Provision of the IPR support services to SMEs on the involved territories and focus on the major experienced
• Identification of “good practices” applied by the partners and “good practices” available at EU level to be transferred
in the involved territory;
• Improvement of IPR support services to SMEs;
• Enhancement of qualitative procedures in IPR auditing;
• Improvement of the administrative aspects in the IPR management both at SME level and PA level.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be undersigned by the partners at the end of the project with the aim to engage
in more frequent peer learning activities. The MoU should be a first step of an EU based network of partners aiming to foster,
enforce and further develop IPR services to SMEs.
The overall objective of the project is to collaboratively address a common innovation support challenge; namely to peer review IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) support programmes for SMEs in order to improve SMEs knowledge and attitude towards IP/IPR matters as well as to transfer good practices into regional/national programmes for intellectual property management.
INPRO partners agreed on focussing on a specific sector, i.e. Creative Industries (CIs) with application in the housing domain (furniture, design, home automation, etc.). IP is a fundamental asset for enterprises in this sector and represents, or should represent, a significant tool to trade and an incentive for individual creativity and investment in creation. Despite it, smaller CI often have limited knowledge on the importance of IP and IPR management. Therefore, a proper valuation and better exploitation of IP to ensure the sector’s sustainability, as well as a better promotion of IP as the main incentive for creation and investment into CI are required. Using the Twinning Advanced methodology a Design Options Paper (DOP) on IPR services for
the Creative Industries will be elaborated in order to be at disposal for other innovation agencies to design and/or deliver similar support services. Professional experts with extensive knowledge and experience on IPR and on creative moderation methodologies will be subcontracted to help INPRO partners’ to achieve the highest quality results from the peer learning activities.
